Preschool Playground Project

As we said at the Prism Winter Banquet, we are going to get to work on some renovations on our preschool and elementary playground. Thank you to all the parents who provided input on our survey. The general feedback we got was near unanimous—most people at Prism still prefer more of a natural environment to play in. We are going to start our playground renovations with 10 smaller projects on the preschool playground that will have near immediate benefit in both maintenance, activities, and drainage. We will begin working on these ten projects in January and hope to be finished by spring time. Learn more about the project here.

Immediate needs include:

  • Preparing the ground

  • Installing some landscape edging

  • Installing the rock pathway

  • Assembling the sandbox

  • Assembling a new storage shed

If you can help with any of these things in January or February, please email misty.newcomb@prismeducationcenter.org.

Special thanks to Lifted David, a middle school student at Prism, for drawing our preschool renovations to scale so we could develop a clearer vision of what play will look like for our students.
